FAQ

Q. What should I expect during a session?

A. We start the session sitting together talking about your concerns, allowing me to get to know you and gather information. The kinesiology component involves removing your shoes and lying fully clothed on a massage table. There is a small amount of touch involved, primarily your right arm will be used for muscle testing. As well as applying gentle pressure to specific points on the body, essential oils and tuning forks may also be used during your balance.

Q. What is Kinesiology and how does it work?

A. Kinesiology aims to improve our communication with ourselves and others, identify and understand thought and behaviour patterns, shows us how listen to ourselves, releases stress and therefore helps improve our quality of life. Kinesiology uses muscle testing, usually the right arm, to access information held in a clients subconscious. It’s the link that enables the therapist to more quickly uncover the connection between what’s happening in the present and where that came from. Various techniques are then used to assist the body to release the stress.

Q. How many sessions will I need?

A. A minimum of 3 sessions are recommended to bring about lasting change. My approach is to encourage you to notice when you need a balance and also to teach you skills to access your own inner wisdom. There will be no pressure for you to attend regular sessions. Clients who notice the most significant life changes are the ones who prioritise their wellbeing and attend regular sessions in particular the programs I have developed.

Q. Are the sessions confidential?

A. Absolutely!

Q. What areas do you specialise in?

A. Stress Management, relationship counselling, communication, grief counselling and professional development

Q. Can I come and see you for Counselling and not Kinesiology?

A. Yes. Counselling and Kinesiology are most effective when used in combination. However it is always your choice and I do have clients who access me for counselling and not kinesiology.

Q. Can I claim the sessions with my private health insurance?

A. You are not able to claim my fees with private health insurance  but you may be able to claim them as a tax deduction if they are work related or for professional development.

Q. Do you work with children?

A. I don’t try to be everything to everyone. My skills are best suited to people aged 14 years and over. There are some fabulous therapists who work with young children and I can give you a referral if you need.
